The ultimate plans for North Harbour includes a mixed use marina development, residential community and business park. Planning commenced on this significant project in 2005 and stage one construction of this 15 – 20 year project will commence in 2014. The proponent (Northeast Business Park Pty Ltd) values the archaeological remains of Moray Fields and successfully applied to the Queensland Heritage Council for recognition and protection of the archaeological remains on the Queensland Heritage Register in 2011. They propose to preserve the historic elements onsite and deliver public facilities to the community to learn of and appreciate this local heritage.
